List Format for July 5th.

1. My parents are now on Facebook. This is going to...end well, I imagine.

2. Last night, I learned that I can have nightmares induced in me! Fun! Apparently reading fail!fic featuring concentration camps and genocide does it for me. Good to know. (For context, I rarely remember my dreams)

3. Muu and I went down to Cupcake Royale to get cupcakes and coffee on the fourth. Only they were out of the strawberry ones. So I had the Salted Carmel and he had the Red, White, and Blue Velvet.

4. We didn't do anything else for the 4th except shake our fists at the neighbors who thought setting off big fireworks in our apartment complex was a good idea.

5. I'm going to be definitely looking to write things that make me happy.

6. Have a meme! Expand( The Care and Keeping of a Jais )

7. I need to do something with my life.

8. I'm on Chapter 12 in FFXIII. Besides the obvious femslash ships, I also kind of ship the whole party, but more in sort of a cuddle-pile way, not necessarily in a romantic or sexual way.

Life-y Update

  1. Received comments back on my thesis draft. Which means that the next week should go towards a) editing, and making the required adjustments, and heck yes, I'm happy that so far the changes appear to be more with clarifying and perhaps expanding existing sections, as well as adding supplementary graphics and tables, oh yeah, and putting together a presentation, and otherwise making myself presentable for a thesis committee by wed morning.
  2. I turned in my paper for the Community-based museums class. It's pretty horrible, but at this point, any improvements I'd want to make to it would take away from thesis time. I really enjoyed the class, and I love the fact that today's guest speaker talked to us about the importance of art to the community and the fact that we're all in the story business. So I need to do an outline for the professional development activity for another course, due Friday and write up a reflection about the work at my zoo due June 4.
  3. I'm probably going to end up defaulting for now on the LGBT-fest fic. I thought my thesis would be happening sometime in May, but as it turns out, my post date for that is the same as my thesis day. So excepting that afternoon, I won't have time to work on it.
  4. In more fic accomplishment news, the Final Fantasy Exchange fics have been revealed. My gift received: The Lost Village by astrangerenters. Think a post-FFX-2 adventure fic with zombies, archeology, secret Yevon archinves, and YRP being awesome. So yeah. I'm squiggling a bit. My gifts given: The Eyes of Thine Kingdom, a Beatrix/Garnet fic which is basically all thought and pining and no plot, but a fun place to play with style, and Ghosts of His Past, a very short story where Auron meets his ex-betrothed on Yuna's pilgrimage.
  5. In something of a bit more awesome news. Apparently (part of) one of my Liar Game fics has been translated into Russian. This is incredibly happy making.
