On losing my motor-virginity
Aug. 28th, 2004 10:35 pmWhat Dagas had planned today:
Except for most of #2, I've done none of the above and for very good reason.
Sabi offered me a ride on her baby, her motorcycle. So I've never ridden before, but they've always struck me as being the coolest things evar, and therefore, I'd gots to do, I tell myself. So boom, boring practical plans gone, hello cornfield motorcycle ride.
Yes, I was nervous. I think when the passenger has to be good as well as a driver, that going to make any first-timer nervous. But oh wow... It sure got fun and happy fast. Except that driving through farmland scenery has it's downsides. Smells, namely. And the motorcycle does not have the gorgeousness that is a windshield, so sometimes things hit kinda stingy.
I think it was about three hours total that I spent with Sabi, maybe about an hour and a half on the motorcycle. We stopped at Wal-Mart for some strange reason, because Wal-Mart is apparently the it place in Central-Eastern Illinois. Bought bit snacks to have before riding back. And then we check out each other's places. Yesh, apartments are the roxxors, but I'm proud of the little mini-pad that I've set up. And Maria isn't around much, so it's all Dagas's. And my couch bed thing is in front of the TV now, so I rule. *grins*
Umm... okay digression. Let's end that.
Probably the only real bad thing was when Sabi pulled in to park, apparently having a passenger when squeezing in to a tight place and taking a sharp turn is not good. We're both fine though; I got my leg out from a pinning, and I think Sabi was just worried a bit about her toes, the pain in which went away pretty soon.
And my overall impression, I've gots to get me one of these. Yeah, I know, no driver's liscenes, but motorcycles don't seem to be as intimidating, maybe because It's something that's comparable to the size of my body, where as a car is a big hunk of metal that separates the driver from the environment.
And that's it.
Oh and Beowulf is a catty little hero, oh yes he is.
And Zidane is just barely winning at FFWA. Go Zidane!! Auron is love and all, but Zidane is my baby, and the character I come closest to fangirling over.
Over and out.
- Buy the rest of my books
- Get through the Beowulf
- Do other readings
- Start Japanese.
