Have a day!

This is one of those days.

I got up way too early for going to bed way too late, which I must entirely blame on Me-chan and Sabi-chan as Naela has proved herself exempt from blamage on this day. The RP was absolutely gorgeous and *shrugs* it was almost as affecting as the whole redeemed Aros scene. There's a lot I'm discovering about everyone's characters, though I still protest to Lana being the heart of the group. She's sane, and she was probably the only who didn't come into the whole crew with an entire set of past issues. Her emotional baggage, to put it bluntly, could fit into the overhead compartment of an airplane. And Talio doesn't count, not really. Me-chan and I met outside the psych room and, yes, that's what was discussed. The RP and evil machinations.

Okay, now assuming that I have a life outside RP, the day continued. I nearly fell asleep in Anthrolecture (for the same reasons I got up too late) and managed to get in a post on the webboard between Anthro and Japanese. I got that chapter quiz back from Saito-sensei, and found that, well, I must have been sleep deprived that Friday, because I really screwed up. I knew where the particles went, really. Then came the aforementioned scene in front of the psych class. Psych was psych, though we didn't get any cute videos of Harlow's monkies. At this point I was tired enough to skip lunch, only I couldn't because dinner would be coming late, if at all, etc. Then the setting of the hallway message board alarm clock to 3:30 and a nap. *shrug*

The bus system scares me. The one drawback to living at Newman as opposed to the Six-Pack or the other public residence halls is that I don't need the bus system unless I want to go outside the quad or Campus town, which almost never happens. Last semester, I rode the bus a grand total of four times, for two separate occassions. The joys of sludging through the slush and slipping on the sidewalks on my way down to the bus stop, because we all know that the one closest to me can't actually be a stop for any of the routes. I ended up waiting for about 20 minutes at the shelter, before it finally picked me up. At least Jackson and the 'scary guy' that one of the kids looked like a murderer were there, so I managed to make the stop.

The other two had been to been to the club before, but this was my first time, so I had Tamela, the lady who runs everything, give me a tour. *shrugs* It's like any Boys and Girls club that you would expect in a poor neighborhood. Lots of concrete and old furniture and used beat up stuff.

I fell in line with Paris and Candice at first, because my mentee wasn't there for the first part of it. The girls were playing Tic Tac Toe at the marker board, and I pwned them both before I showed them the one Tic Tac Toe technique I know. They showed be a bit more around the club, and I ran into Alice, who was in my psych class, and that went to the same school in first grade that I did. Love all these coincidences, she was actually a friend of mine when I was six or seven and still semi-social.

Qui, my mentee (and no, this is not her full name, but one of my annoying journal nicks), showed up and she, and some of the other children played with this 'tatoo' making kit that she brought with her. Yay for new toys. So I have some nice little marker designs stenciled onto my arms, and I stenciled some stuff on to her arms. Fun little activity for a first meeting. Paris, Tony, and this little girl that I didn't get the name of joined us, as did Qui's older sister Naisha.

The kids were loud, and they rough-housed a lot more than I remember doing when I grew up. *shrugs* I think I must have been much more the angsty type, though Justin and I probably had our bickering moments. However, this type of rough-housing seemed much more affectionate than bickering.

The club closes at six, and the guy who drove the van almost locked us in the room. However one of the other mentors turned on the light before Paris told her to turn it off, so that they could spend the night in that little concrete room. The van-guy opened the door for us and let us out. The kids went to their houses in the van, and the four mentors without cars were expected to take the bus home.

Only there were no buses. No. Buses. rrrg. It's cold, we're in the strange neighborhood, and it was slushing like you wouldn't believe. Yes, slushing. The equivalent of slush on the ground falling through the air. One of the people though had a cell phone, so I managed to get back to Newman before dinner ended. So I didn't have to hike over to IT and beg some random person for ramen. Heh. Random.

What else is new? Hmm... I need to do some readings for class tomorrow, and there's another HoP chat going, and maybe Sabi is on.... oh well. Let me obsess and do classwork. Not necessarily in the order.

Over and out.
