I lied about that whole not having a vice thing. My recent reading material counts as a vice, I believe.

I've been reading the Kitty Norville series, wherein the title character is a werewolf and radio talk show host. They're cheap and totally pulp fiction, I definitely wouldn't admit to reading them to impress anyone, but they're addictive. Especially because the author is getting the hang of this whole writing thing. Bonus points go to some of the radio show bits. El oh el, Catholic vampires, the overlap between furries and lycanthropes, the Vampire stuck working the night shift at the Speedy Mart, and the woman miffed at her werewolf boyfriend for not taking her to a concert during the full moon.

I don't think I fangirl-fangirl the series, in the sense that I would write fanfic and squee over characters, Brazillian were-jaguars aside. But they're totally ridiculous without being so embarassingly bad that I can't drag [livejournal.com profile] muusu into actually enjoying them along with me, so it's nice to have something I enjoy for once, that I can share with someone else.

I have stared at those in the bookstore and debated picking them up time and time again. Sadly, I have never had enough money to buy my guilty pleasure novels and that at the same time. *sigh* I shall have to make more of an effort. :D They sound silly. I like books that don't take themselves too seriously.

I can't claim to know your tastes well, but I do think you'd enjoy them, particularly the later books.
