Actually, I love it. =D

This is just coming from the experience of shopping for some new pants at Target, and then seeing the new Project Runway episode where they were 'designing for the everyday woman'.

To those responsible for making clothing, and defining beauty and health:

Point one: Plus-sized girls are not automatically brain-dead or body unconscious. Nor are our lumpy bodies the perfect carbon copy of each other. This means that it would behoove you to have more than one cut of blue jean in your plus-sized department. Same with having more than one cut of dress-shirt, dress-pant, skirt, jacket, casual shirt, and dress. Also, don't call your one cut of jean slim-fit. I'm sure someone takes comfort in it but it just seems so...inappropriate to me.

Point two: Being fat/plus-sized is not a sin. It does not make anyone automatically ugly. Believe it or not, some people actually prefer women who have fat on them to women who show their bones. And some even prefer them to women who are a more normal weight. I can pretty much testify, there is always someone who can appreciate any body type. I think a problem with a lot of 'less attractive' people men and women alike is a lack of confidence in who they are.

On the Project Runway note, there is no reason why this design for a larger woman should not have won over this design for someone about as close to the model body type as possible for this challenge. One of these is fun and flattering for a wide range of figures, the other one is a sheath dress with a 'wtf' type collar.

Point three: Being a certain heavier weight isn't necessarily unhealthy compared to the alternatives. I'll be honest here, I am trying to lose weight first to fit into real clothes, and second just because I want to control it now before I shoot up to a weight that I'm not comfortable with. But if it came down to surgery, dieting to the point of starving my body, doing the diet and binge cycles, or using drugs with unpleasant side-effects, I would choose to remain my rather hefty weight, because it's not the thinness that's most important, but the health. (Right now I'm just cutting back on refined sugars and a lot of artificial foods, drinking more water, and taking time out to exercise).

Point four: Everytime I see a girl or woman under the size of a 14 complain about being fat, I want to shake her and ask what the heck she's been smoking. This isn't a logical thing, just one of those things that really just riles me. Especially when my mother (who is tiny) talks about how she wishes she could just be anorexic. Please, just be healthy and love yourself. There is probably someone out there who wishes they could have the same body you loathe.

/end rant

In other news. Classes started todays. Yays. Introduction to Islam has worksheets. Statistics has a Russian guy who trys to be a comedian.

Gumi and Sabi droppped by unexpectedly to chat. We had fun, or at least Muu and I did. It's great to see Gumi again. (Can you believe that you folks in New York got to see her after coming back from Spain than Dagas who goes to the same school?). Also, have a nice little time in Washington D.C. Sabi. Mwaaah!

Over and out.

It's all about the estrogenical treachery. Poor Muu. He'll wind up watching The English Patient one day and crying. :)

And one day, he'll start wearing make-up and putting on women's clothing.

I'm thinking something in blue (not that I've ever seen the picture or could identify the blue - mind you) :)

Your default userpic - is that from "Dead Like Me" ? It just dawned on me that it very well could be from there

Why yes, yes my default is from Dead Like Me.

And Muu likes blue. But I want to see him in light green, because it makes his eyes so pretty.

Perhaps a lime green cocktail dress with 13" stilettos and a nice string of pearls at waist level (like a belt but looser) :)

I totally understand what you mean. :/ And Uli should've won, really. Vincent's seemed kind of...hmm, stiff, almost. Like he really had only constructed it in one day. Uli's designs are always very pleasing and soft and fit so well on the models, or whoever else she is designing for. Plus, she showed that while some of the others had had problems designing for plus sizes, she accomplished it with ease.

I'm hoping Uli wins this season. >.>

I don't know who I'm cheering for. It was Alison, but then she got Auf'd.

Yay for an LJ entry! It was great to see you again, too ♥! I'm so glad you and Muu are so happy ^_^

And I enjoyed your rant, too. That's such a great attitude--healthy is more important than society's idea of beautiful. I wish I could think more like that. But even I know anorexia is no joke -_-;

It also helps that I have someone who thinks I'm beautiful in this shape. =D

... Vincent won? With... that ugly dress?
It would be one thing if the dress was visually appealing and actually faltering to her figure, but it's not. Uli definitely should've won.
Crazy Vinnie must've bribed one of the producers... or Nina was not judging.

Thanks, I will. Mwhahahaha. >:3
