Junjie-isms, and other weird things.
Feb. 7th, 2004 02:25 amDisclaimer: I am in no, way, shape, or form making fun of Chinese people. I just find having class with Junjie to be rather... amusing.
The other TA misspells his email address, and so at the beginning of class, he puts up the corrected address on the board. Along with "I'm sorry." And a crying face just above the "I'm sorry." When he announces that this mistake was made, he says, "I'm sorry with tears running down" and in addtion makes the crying gestures with his hands. Yeah... prolly more amusing in person, but I've never had a teacher who's done anything like that before.
When speaking of speaking with names.
"You see, if I'm a Chinese student and I turn in a test and I didn't do very good, then I might say to you, 'This is my Waterloo.' You might then say, 'No, this is your Dunkirk. I'm sure you'll have your Normandy someday."

What is it with all the good authors having no self-confidence? The majority of the writers that I've found who have talent don't believe they have any. So I leave a constructively critical review for this person, and I get an e-mail back, where she seems really nervous. Not just about her talents, but also that she might be bothering me. And we all know that Dagas as such a busy social life. *eye roll* So yes, I replied, and I was actually nice to her. Intelligent people are to rare to be mean to. ^_^

I forced Me-chan to watch "About a Boy." Despite all the swearing and the innuendo, she actually seemed to like it. *sigh* Looks like I can't really traumatize the poor girl now can I?

"Actually, I realized something." I says to Sochi, I says, "You make me wish I had a boyfriend and Achira-san makes me glad I don't."
Sochi actually laughs.
2:30 yesterday morning, and Achira-san's boyfriend calls her. Achira-san is already asleep, and only Dagas and her Anthro paper are stll up. So this guy wakes her up. Confrontation ensues. And it seems that their already rocky relationsihp has issues because some guy just kissed her a few days ago... and apparently, he shows no interest in sharing her life here at the university, as she has to leave every weekend to see him. And yes, heatedness, which ends with Achira-san trying convince him that they should break it off.
Yes, it's none of my business. But then again, she's not talking in a quiet voice and she's sitting on the heater which is maybe six feet away.
Anyway, I need to do something else.
Over and out.
