Question:

This might just be my isolated experience, but why do we, on our Patriotic holidays seem to celebrate the Military exclusively in connection with our freedom as a nation? I see signs on the road that salute the soldiers who die protecting our freedom, but I've yet to see one that salutes the U.S. Constitution, or the Declaration of Independence.

So, in the true spirit of the day, Muusu and I pursued our happiness and exercised our rights to life and liberty. And it was damn fun.

And since I've started playing FFX-2 again, particularly while LFG on ranger...

I want to say it is because of the country's military might that the ideologies laid down by the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence are being upheld. Our forefathers had to fight a war to implement, support, and sustain those words against others who disagree with our point of view. Military men and women are the first in line to protect our country's beliefs and independence. Depending on where you live, however, the military prominence is either excessive (bases nearby, etc) or limited.

Also, I do think the documents are on view or promoted in Washington, D.C. along with all the other patriotic paraphanalia. I'm trying to remember why we have fireworks on Independence Day, but I'm drawing a blank.
