I was on vacation this week? Hmm... so that's what it's called.
Three days on the road out of five. No seeing people I haven't seen in a long time, no going cool places, no getting away from chores or nagging or what have you.
Just seeing an old woman, on oxygen and dying of smoking related illnesses, smoking, and having to go over to her house five minutes after getting home from the first visit so I can pick up a pack that dropped under the night stand.
Getting lost in the middle of So-Ill (hey if it can be So-Cal, it's gonna be So-Ill for southern Illinois), on our way to the Target in Missouri while nearly running out of gas and dealing with a very kinda panicky boy.
Not talking more than five words to my dad because I'm not going to reach out and be nice to someone who can't control his venom long enough to say "Hi" before ripping on something.
On the other hand, I did get to see my mom and my dog, taste my Aunt Bird's cooking, find a fantasy novel by an author I've seen highly recommended or four dollars, talk to Megumi, spend some real quality time with Muu, and embarass some hot latino guys.
So it's not all bad.
