Confessions of the eighth grade writer.
Mar. 30th, 2004 05:38 pmFear the 14 year old writingness. I'll spare you the Mary Sue and go straight to the self insertion. No words have been changed, except for the names of the real poeple. Note the arrogance of author. And I changed the worst of the punctuation abuse.
This is the infamous Compass story, though not in its full glory. Oh, and Yume, that book of yours makes a guest appearance.
The five spectators werew sitting on a curb watching the magicians fight. There was a strom brewing, but nobody really minded the weather.
"So are you finished with the story yet?" asked Megumi.
"Almost," said a girl who was intently writing in a notebook, oblivious to the storm and the battle.
"We're going to die. I just know it," said a really tall girl.
"Mikake," said the author, not looking up, "could you hold this metal umbrella over my head so the notebook stays dry"
"Can everybody be quiet," a girl with short blond hair said, "I would like to watch the battle in peace."
"Inu, would you rather that when asked where you came from to always answer 'probably the creation of some insane wizard,' or to be incessantly preoccupied with the whereabouts of the Muffin Man?"
"Could everybody just shut up! And another thing, can we take this battle indoors? It might be kind of dangerous to stay outside when there is a very good chance of lightning," commented Inu.
"The author scribbled something in her notebook, and then they were seated on the stairs in their school's cafeteria.
"Look at Kylar, he is so cute," sighed Megumi.
"He looks kind of annoying," said Inu
"We're all going to die," Mikake said nervously.
"Rose is really much prettier than Maricar, so why isn't she the one to get Tath?" asked Yume.
"Look, the battle is starting, everybody just shut up!" shouted Tegan
And oh yes, am I flaming the 14 year old me. In fact, I invite all you others to join me.
Such a jaded little four-year-old:
Maricar no longer believed in friends. Everybody here treated Maricar like dust. Her black braid was falling apart, she never got anything good to eat, so she became very thin. Above all, she was exhausted. She had to walk with the Renegades 12 hours a day. At noon the rested for an hour and that was when she would sneak away and play. She couldn't run away due to the sensor around her neck. It's magic made it impossible to get off
Aww... such a tragic past and so abused, poor thing... *comforts the English language*
You know, I would post more, but I'm making myself shudder now. *goes back in time five years and shouts at her fourteen-year-old self. I hope you're happy!
Over and out.
