Odakyo Ep 1.
Oct. 25th, 2010 06:01 pmSo...I just watched the first episode of the Odagiri Kyoko j-drama.
On one hand, I know enough about the manga to know that they've basically cut the drama from whole cloth, and maybe not in ways I'm comfortable with. Like concept is the same, and the mystery in the first episode was the same as the mystery in the first chapter, but everything else is totally different, especially the main characters. ( spoilers? I guess )
On the other hand...it's total crack--hilarious, cheesy, on-what-planet-does-this-make-any-sense crack, and it's adorable (and so is this version of Odakyo), and the ( first case ) was executed as unskeezily as one could possibly hope for. And the thematic similarities between this and Liar Game are already apparent enough that this drama feels like home. I wonder why that is.Kaitani fangirl much? *cough*
