Okay, nothing much to report on. Played way too much Kingdom Hearts, came up with more ways in which to confuse the readers of Starless later on in the story, and wrapped some gifts.

Gifts.

An apology in advance to everyone, to the people who aren't getting gifts and those who are. To those who aren't, I apologize for the lack of giftage. For those who are, I'm sorry that I will not be able to play the "Gift Psychic" this year.

*shrugs* I know I'm going to disappoint everyone this year, especially my mom. For the last two years, I've been able to get her some amazing Christmas/birthday presents (her b-day's on the 30th), not because they were totally expensive, although she's the one I spend the most for, but because they were exactly what she wanted. Two years go, especially. She'd been looking at those mugs for months, and what I had to go through to keep them a secret... why I always hated having to pay from her account and then having her transfer the funds from mine. It was effort, and it paid off. So this year, I think there nice things. Well, the ornament kinda requires that we get a tree (not gonna happen, blame the cruise they went on), and the CocaCola mugs, she would have loved a few years ago (like five) but not so much now. Her birthday gift, I'm sure she wants something like what I got her, but she tends to be very picky about things.

Dad. *shrugs* He doesn't care about Christmas. I just got him a DVD of a movie that he's probably already seen and didn't like well enough to go out and buy it. Hopefully it's okay though.

Maggie. It's treats. Why wouldn't she love it.

Me-chan. Just one pathetic little piccy. No fics, no poems, no music, nothing like what I did last year, with that huge elaborate anthology. Maybe I'll scrounge together some more laments or a ficlet for New Years in exchange for the Aros ficlet. *cough*

Everyone else. I either went completely cheap (read: Pictures or burned CDs) or I did nothing at all (I so owe Yume something).

Which leads me to my rationalization. Christmas is nothing but a competition, at least in the secular American consumerist way of thinking. The only thing that sets apart the competition from the ones that happen the other 11 months of the year (assuming that the Christmas season should be a month) is that people focus on the amount they can give, versus the amount they can get.

Just some random things:
Some people bother with putting over 100,000 lights on their house for Christmas. Dagas's family doesn't bother with any.

NORAD, that thingie that was used to track Soviet missiles for the Cold War is now used to track Santa Clause on Christmas day.

*shrugs*

Starless should be up tomorrow, and the piccys should be sent to those who are getting them. Library is closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas day. Like it even matters.

Over and out.

Dagas, I wouldn't worry about the Christmas gifts. I'm not doing any particularly good job this year myself. And Aros and Lana is downright cute you know!

I hate to see Christmas reduced to such a consumerist sort of holiday, although at least it centers around what you give over what you get. Not that "I'm more generous than you are" competitions should be going on, though! Anyway, you probably know what Christmas is to me aside from the whole gift factor, although I can certainly understand why Christmas would more center on a holiday of giving in your life.

But I'm rambling. Just don't beat yourself up over the Christmas stuff, okay? It's a happy holiday, regardless of what you gave or what you got.

That said, I have an Aros ficlet that's in very bad shape and in need of serious work. Later!
