dagas_isa: Odagiri Kyoko in a Moment of Triumph (odakyo is badass)
[personal profile] dagas_isa

This is the famous Genius Psychic Odagiri Kyoko. Spoiler alert: She's not really psychic. Think of her like the Japanese Shawn Spencer. Or maybe Shawn Spencer is an American her, whichever. Either way, she never backs down from the challengers who appear on her popular TV show Occultalk...

...not even when one sets her fan on fire...

mostly because her cousin/manager Kaoru won't let her.

Anyway, It's up to our intrepid fake psychic and her sidekick Taniguchi to investigate the truth behind the matter.

There are the covert phone calls from the master herself...

...serious face interrogations...

...not-so-serious face interrogations...

...and threats from an elementary school student wielding a rubber band gun.

But in the end, Odagiri Kyoko must inform the kid that his dad is going down. Why?

Because Odagiri Kyoko sees everything!

Well, actually, she's got science*...

... and Taniguchi's acrobatics** to win the day for her.

MERAAA!

Mission accomplished.

But no episode of Occultalk is complete without a "visit" from a "spirit" to tell the real story. This time, it's the spirit of an Italian Chef.

It all ends with the mystery solved and everyone happy.

Until Kaoru comes up with another idea.

* BTW the women in the screenshot doing the demonstration (a.k.a. doing the teaching)? Students from the women's college featured in the first episode. It's pretty pathetic how happy that made me.

** This scene is now where my biggest gripe in Love Shuffle is that we didn't get to see Kikuta do any handsprings across the big open floor space. Or any gymnastics whatsoever. Man, missed opportunity.
