I know that she isn't perfect. That doesn't mean that she's not one of my closest friends.
Do you have to give in and be shat upon? No. I know that she's giving in on things, and some of them out of respect for you. She's pretty much stopped with all the pseudo-lesbian stuff, OUT OF RESPECT for you.
You shouldn't have to give in on everything, but neither should she. That's common ground.
