Ay yay yay!
Apr. 7th, 2004 08:57 pmFirst, I am so sorry for Megumi's continued run of sucky happenings. Me sorry, and I promise to refrain from any more KFC jokes.
Second, this is the first time that I've had any sort of extended computer run today. Jeez, I think I'm just doing a bunch of little errands and they all run together. I decided to go to Am-Ko, which is the Asian food store that's near campus. I took the bus, which is pathetic in itself. For some reason I thought it was on First and University instead of First and Springfield, and it looked like one of those long walks, so I take the bus. Yeah, and I spend at least half an hour on the bus going around the Shampoo part of the city and finally coming off at University near First street. And I get off to walk there, and you know what I realize: It was indeed on First and Springfield. So I walk another few blocks (closer to campus thank you so much), and I find the store, which is in itself this jumble of packages with various Asian scripts all around. A cool place, really. So, I know have eight boxes of Pocky in differing flavors.
And then I walk back, and I realize that it was really something like a twenty minute walk, so I lost a lot of time riding the bus.
Third, I got a package!! *jumps for joy* It's the Easter care package. Starburst Jellybeans. Cocolate eggs. Sour Altoids. And a little purse that looks like a Chinese take out box with style. Yeah. Getting that was about the highlight of my day. It is truly made.
Psych meetings was somewhat eventful/uneventful depending on your definition of those two words. Apparently there have been some things happening at the club that are effecting the mentors. A new sort of organization, and sometimes the feeling that the mentors don't have a lot of control about a situation. There was something about one of the mentors wanting to take the kids to a guest lecture by Chuck D, who is has some very radical views concerning race according to the guy who brought up the issue. So that's definitely getting on people's uncomfortable side.
Anthro debate meeting was pretty good as well. Both sides managed to give me enough stuff for me to hash out what they plan on talking about, and I think we all have a sort of structure for how we want the debate to go, which is about as much as you can really expect from a meeting.
Oh yes, interesting flier on the library bulletin board: Hash Wednesday. Talking about marijuana rights. Brownies will be served. ^^;; No, I won't be going, but it was interesting to see on the bulletin board in the Undergrad.
And that shall be about it for tonight. I'll be spending my time cleaning the area around the desk, if you really want to contemplate that.
Over and out.
