Why... why now brown cow?
Apr. 2nd, 2004 10:27 pm"The question isn't how. We already know how. The question we really want to know is why Why now, brown cow?"
We started the motivation and emotion chapter...right behind Megumi... and you have to realize that this must be the single most demented chapter. So Val... Val of all people starts up the chapter with the evolutionary psychology bit, and telling us about this guy who did research on cannibalism. Essentially he surveyed a bunch of people about the type of people they would rather eat. You know. "Would you rather eat a young person or an old person?" "Would you rather eat an attractive person or an ugly person?" And so on and so forth. And then I assumed that he asked the participants what type of people they would rather have sex with. And the conclusion: People look for the same traits in a mate that they do for a meal.
This somehow grows into a discussion comparing the two practices, and whether this conclusion is valid. And then it degenerates into Val dancing around the room "Would you rather eat the symmetrical cow or the lumpy cow? Symmetrical cow? Lumpy cow?"
This of course makes enough of an influence that when I go back from the club, I'm telling Joe and Jackson (and Faraanz, but he was there and the other two weren't). The people on the bus were probably wondering what the heck went on. Or even better, they were staring at us. I don't know. I was busy being 'gregarious' which is known to happen on occasion. They better be weirded out. You know cannibalism and sex... yummy. ^^;;
Oh yeah... those guys are hilarious. <3 Joe and Jackson... Jackson being the other anthro-type person in my psychology class. And Joe being *shrugs* funny and interesting, although a bit childish. There was no one at the club today, apparently a basketball game at Stratton. I don't know what that means except that there were no kids. So Joe, Faraanz, and I just hung out for about half an hour looking at the mish mash of books that the club collected. And we get into them enough to miss the 4:54. So we go out to wait for the next bus to come, and we run into Jackson.
The two of us talk about the anthropaper and how it lends itself to... well garbage. We take a sentence. "Your eyes are beautiful" or "I thought you'd never ask." or "Flying planes can be dangerous" and try to interpret them in multiple ways. That's all the guidelines we had. Of course I get to revise. He doesn't. Heh heh... He then explains about this professor, in his eighties who either A) has the most interesting life ever, or B) can tell enough interesting anecdotes that even if he lied about his life must have some imagination. So need to take that class... need need need.
Hmm... other than that... Achira-san is gone for the weekend, and I got back my paper, decent grade but not good.
Oh yes, yesterday was Shigatsu BAKA no hi according to my Japanese teacher. Let us all celebrate the word baka, which our teacher analyzed for us. The character is a combination of horse and deer apparently.
I made a new wallpaper for my computer. Onicchi themed. I am embracing this obsession. I am so embracing it. Why not? She rockeths.
I should go before I start making sense.
Over and out.
