Personal Life Update (finally)
Apr. 24th, 2010 08:02 pmList format cause I'm awesome like that.
- Thesis defense date is scheduled for June 2, bright and early. Then I'm going to present for the zoo on June 10. The next step is to have a project to show off. Which at this point is an evaluation plan of their social media efforts on Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube.
- Muu got into a kitchen. It's down in SeaTac, as part of a hotel restaurant, and he's pretty much on the bottom rung, by hey he's in a kitchen, it's dedicated to local foods, and the head chef worked at The French Laundry for five years. So that's cool.
- Speaking of my duckling, his birthday is Thursday, so we're probably going to get our foodie on. I think doing one of the full Art of the Table suppers would be a possibility, or if we wait for May, we can do a different tasting menu at Tilth. Or Wild Ginger, we haven't been there in a while.
- School is is full swing right now. Have internship + thesis, plus a class on community centered museums (for which I had to write a wikipedia article of all things), and a class that's basically resume/job interview skills, plus learning some of the emerging trends in museums (as observed by two middle aged academic museologists).
- I'd like to get down to Rainier Beach sometime and see the Kubota Garden. Related, I think their web site design is heinous and it's a pity you can't contact them by email.
- We actually cleaned today. The good: I found something that will work on the tub. The bad: The mop head basically disintegrated the moment I held it up.
- I did actually write my Fukunaga/Nao fic. Unfortunately, Fukunaga's roommate remains something of a mystery in my own mind (or legend) because my original story idea didn't quite work, but it was kind of happy and warm, which is the type of porn I write.
- Rough drafts for ff_exchange and lgbtfest both done. I think the FF one basically just needs to be beta-read or self-edited for minor adjustments. The lgbtfest one needs a complete rewrite of one section, and then a POV shift for the other ones.
- Oh yeah, and I'm on both LJ and Dreamwidth now. Though LJ seems more personal, and Dreamwidth more fannish/meta.
