Well, I'm at the library technically, but it's the same thing. I'm back in the B-town.
I didn't realize that I missed this place until I pointed out subdivisions on the way home. Yes. Subdivisions. I think I just hit a new low. Although Me-chan pointed out a school bus, so I suppose I'm not that much worse than her. I guess.
I got in earlier than my parents expected, so they were out when I returned, making it even more home than it would have been if they were waiting for me. Maggie was there, though, and the moment that I stepped out of the car, she was into one of those alarm type barks that she does so well. And as soon as I got in the house, she was there waiting for me, butt wagging and all. If you ever want to see Dagas reduced to baby-talk, just let her around her dog. ^_^ *glomps Maggie*
So good to be home. My juice in the fridge. A private bathroom, with a clean shower. And homemade food. Comfortable furniture. And a television that doesn't encroach on sleeping times.
My dad came home about half an hour after I did, and I got to surprise him. ^_^ Despite himself, I think he was glad to see me. And then mom came home, and she didn't really notice me until dad said "Well, aren't you going to say hi to your daughter." To this my mother goes into an excited type squeal of "Jaaaaisaaa's home Maggie" (name distortion used to help convey tone of voice)
Anyway, despite the whole happy to see me thing, my mom has me in the kitchen chopping up veggies and helping her make eggrolls. Homemade egg rolls, again sigh. And mom is suggesting that we con dad into taking us to Ju Rin. Hibachi! Hibachi! Hibachi!
The night was so typical, what with the family TV watching that it felt so surreal that I haven't had it in so long. There's no adjustment, except when I go into my room and realize that a college student lives there, and half the stuff is back at the dorm.
Today, I played KH again, and started going through a new game, and letting the fanfiction ideas wash over me. Go primary sources. ^_^ And then I took the shower with the nice happy hot water, and decent water pressure, and went to heaven essentially, but not until I lounged around in my PJs until 1:00 or so (considering that I got up at 8:30, because I went to bed at an early hour).
And now, I'm at the library, where the librarians did remember me enough to say hi and talk to me. The internet isn't as good as the dorm internet, and there are things that I can't do here, but I'm home! Oh yeah, and there are nine computers here instead of six. ^_^ w00t!
Anyway, I'm home now. And it feels good. I missed the old barn; I really did.
