My teachers have accents!!
Aug. 27th, 2003 01:31 pmOr speak other dialects of English, that to my ears are accents. Classes and food service started today. The coolest thing was that while we had to do our Monday classes today, instead of our Wednesday ones, my schedule on both of those days is identical. Linguistics in the morning and Japanese in the afternoon.
I can tell that I'm going to love linguistics. My type of subject, a small class in an AC building, and a professor whose first and last names rhyme. Eyamba G. Bokamba. Woo hoo! The other one I had today, Japanese, is slightly less auspicious. The teachers are both native speakers, and it was difficult to understand them when they were calling off roll. Yes, I have homework. It's exactly like high-school.
And Sabi-chan has been accounted for. I ran into her on my way back from Japanese. Yayness!
Sorry for this self-absorbtion. Terribly boring, it must be. But I'll be back to normal once I've settled in to college life.
And the internet is still down in my room.
