Just a little bit of self-actualization.
Aug. 9th, 2003 10:55 amI wanted to go to the library yesterday. Really. Truly. Except that better things came up at the opportunities. Who in their right mind would pass up the opportunity to take a bubble bath in full privacy? So, when mom took one of her co-workers out to get a haircut, I took the opportunity.
And then she went out shopping. And, having my pre-college anxieties, I had this strangest urge to create something. Meet the old canvas I had stored in my closet, and the acrylics left over from the fish painting thing.
So, I did what came naturally: I picked up the brush, chose the brightest colors and began to paint. there was already a modified picture of Hekiru from the alternate cover to Precious Garden, and so I just painted that in, making the adjustments that I saw fit. The background got messed up though. I wanted to to the midnight blue thing all around, but it didn't end up working, so the entirety of the left side of the painting is this black shadowy figure, where as the top is that awesome shade of midnight blue with the black serving as an outline to the figure. Overall, I like the way it turned out even if it wasn't very good.
I started working on Rodion's past. I figured he was created about 1200 c.e. and he spent the first 300 years or so of his life in training. His first assignment came in the Renaissance, which really cemented his love of art. He's had seven major prophetic people to watch over, some of which ended happily, some of which ended not so. Overall, he's had enough experience that he qualifies as a veteran, even though he's not high enough to get anything resembling a promotion. That's the short version. I think this Shadow is getting to be more trouble than he's worth. Or perhaps not. When his profile is finally completed, he's going to be someone to be proud of. It's four hand written pages and counting, but there's some organization issues because his personality is getting pretty complex.
Over and out.
