Yes, some things have to be changed by both parties.
Honestly, I can't give more than one example, because that's the only one she's told me about firsthand. Anything outside of that isn't my business until either you or her, decides to share it with me, and I decide to get deeper into this mess than necessary.
I'm not saying that people can say "Do all the things that piss me off and it's okay." and things will be all great. What I am saying is that there's a 'choose your battles' mentality.
You can't change everything about yourself that pisses her off. She can't change everything about herself that pisses you off. It's about figuring out what's more important to change and then dealing with the rest.
