June-ish sundries.
Jun. 19th, 2011 08:16 pm1. It's father's day today, which is very much a "meh, whatever" holiday for me. The man that I call "Dad" is very ambivalent about holidays in general and enjoyed his golfing in peace, and as for my biological father, if he has other children who are a part of his life, I hope they're enjoying their Father's Day as well. As for me, I will thank him for whatever parts of my good health his genetics are responsible for and leave it at that.
2. Fremont Solstice parade and festival was yesterday, and as is to be expected, the weather was cold and rainy. People were completely overwhelming, and even though I think next year we will either skip or just do the fair only and skip the parade, I am glad I got to go. There was also an adorable little boy running back and forth across the street (after they'd been cleared but before the parade started) handing out little plastic necklaces.
3. I'm museboxing with
kmegumi2, and it's been a lot of fun. I'm playing with Nao and she's playing Menzies (a character from some of the Doctor Who audio stories), and we're using one of the early Liar Game scenes as a set up, and I've been having fun, and at the very least helping Gumi out with her character voice.
4. I haven't been doing much writing (blame FFXI for this), but I do have ideas for some of my
kink_bingo squares, and could either do my original one-column line, or be ambitious and do an X pattern, since IIRC "breathplay" was the one I was kind of worried about. (But single column line also has wonderful, wonderful story idea)
5. I find myself having a lot of meta ideas, but also deciding against trying to formulate them into coherent somewhat diplomatic posts because they do riff off of other people's meta in a way that goes into critical tangents, even though I actually really did like the meta itself.
6. Oh! I've been watching Deka Wanko, which I find to be hilarious, cracky, and a bit adorable but still too much of a sausage-fest for me to really want to keep coming back to. I must say, I'm eventually going to want a crossover universe of all the J-dramas (though manga Liar Game). The one where Osawa Eriko's division is investigating a case related to the Liar Game tournament and Nao, Akiyama, and Fukunaga are key witnesses, and Hanamori Ichiko and Kimoto Mami are roommates with a kind of Odd Couple vibe, and Ichiko eventually runs into Odagiri Kyoko when they're both investigating a case and then it turns out that Aino Minako is going to be a guest on Occultalk. Or something like that.
And that, as they say, is that.
