So, this is about the time of year that I start getting birthday letters and cards. And umm... I got one from Mom and one from Nan, and I'm just kind of amused by both of them. Therefore, I will exercise my right to post them on el-jay, with the formatting as close as I can get it, spelling punctuation errors and all. Not to make fun of them (though Muu and I did get some laughs from the content) but because there's some neat communication going on in both.
From Nan:

Bridgette gave me this computerized phone # holder for Christmas but I can't figure it out--may be you can-- I don't know where the papers are either sp.
Maybe you can go to a store where they sell them and they can make a photo stot [?] copy of instructions from another one. Hope it works out for you I've misplaced youre phone #. I'll get it from mummy Karen and call you on your birthday all for now.
Shame on me for forgetting you boyfriends name no offend but i can't remember anything since my ill-ness oh Jaisa I wish you lived closer you and your boy friend made me so happy when you were down I liked him a lot He's a "Keeper" --- tell him I said Hello Mr. X.

Dear Jaisa,
So. It's been really great hearing from you so frequently. You sound wonderful. And Happy - Things here are ok - as I said the store is slow and Ron is really pissing me off, as usual. What an ass. Anyway enough of that (thing). Pat is being deployed within the next few weeks. You sould call and wish him luck. Can't waite to see you. We'll have fun shopping. I can't believe you want to go shopping! You may find this hard to believe, I use to think a girl could get by with three pairs of shoes - Now I seed three pairs in each color - Did I tell you Mark Bruce asked how many pairs of shoes I had, so the next day I asked dad if he were surprised to hear I had 50 pairs? He replied - "I'm surprised It was only 50" - I think he was serious too - So enjoy your Birthday. Also your anniversary. I love you. Mom.
