Aug. 17th, 2003 02:46 pmYes, I finally got my graduation present, a laptop. I love it, love it, love it. Realize that I have spent all my computing years on machines that were outdated. The good computer in my home runs Windows 98, and the relic in my room runs Windows 95. So now I actually have a computer that can copy and burn CDs, can play DVDs, and makes it easy for me to move/transfer files. And I feel like I'm in bliss.
But as rapturous as it feels to have that piece of machinery, the true loving is reserved for the accessory: a thumb drive. That is the most kick-but piece of equipment that I've come across. 64 MB storage, in a tiny little piece of hardware, and the library computers recognize it. This means that my important files Axis, IDT, and my romanizations are officially on the good machine now.
Speaking of all those important files, I think I've gotten in over my head.
A person at the Hekiruworld Forum wants romanizations. Of course I have to speak up and tell him/her that I've done over 50 (Sadistic Pink was the 50th), and hence I'm now proofreading and posting all these lyrics one album at a time.
And then there's the 'Neopian Tales' which people are actually counting on because they've given me information about their pets.
And Axis. Part 23 is finished, but there's something about it that just says 'filler' to me, which doesn't work because it's from Nozomi's POV, and she is after all, one of the main characters. I don't know if it's because I don't have the same handle on her pre-fall personality as I do with Inori's pre-ascended personality (which is really the same as her post-ascended, with out that hidden note of sadness). I'll send it to Me-chan, and ask what she thinks of it.
The cool thing is that I've managed to have a number of revelations about Kage, Nozomi, and I think Asarael. I so want to write that group of chapters that make the climax of the story . . . but I'll wait.
I'm trying to wrap my head around my Shadow mythology, especially because I almost think it could work on it's own. For example the story of Kage's parents, of Trist's coming to power, of Rodion's various assignments are pretty interesting.
