Yes, I can do something right.
Aug. 6th, 2003 03:51 pmLet's look at something impossible. I managed to do something nice/impressive for both my parents in one night. Well, not that the impressive thing was something I did, but it came at the right time.
I got a letter from George W. Bush. Well, technically it's the White House, but I managed to get his signature. Remember those letter's we had to write for Kettering, Me-chan? Yep, four months later I finally got a response from the one I wrote to Bush. Pretty much, it just gave all the statistics for the education plan. I still think it focuses too heavily on standardized tests. After all, if an idiot like me can appear smart because I just happen to have a penchant for lucky guessing, then those tests prove nothing. Nada. Needless to day, my father was quite impressed with the fact that I got the letter, and that it appeard to have Bush's autograph. Mom was pretty impressed, as much as she could while being apathetic towards politics.
What really got her was the fact that I photocopied this article about her current obession show: "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy." I found the magazine at the library, and actually had enough spare change from yesterday's Randall Road adventure to make copies. Oh, and I showed her that book I was reading. She found some of it amusing. Although at the mention that Capricorns were party poopers, she got offended ^^;;
So, I might actually have a couple brownie points from my parents. Or I'm a little lower on they're hit list.
Over and out.
