All right, with everything going as it is, the graduation party actually has a date and everything. Not the time yet, but most everything else. Since I leave for U of I on the 24th of this month, Mom is thinking that we should hold it the 22nd, since that's the day that both she and I have off. So we're having the Friday afternoon/evening bash. Which means that I hafta get out invitations ASAP.

As for the actual gift . . . no word. Nothing at all.

Oh dear . . . a large party, and one that I can't shrink from. *ish very scared of large parties* Please don't let me have a breakdown, please don't let me have a breakdown.

Over and out.

The best part about doing the volunteer work at the library is that I pretty much have constant access to the newest books. So, I saw this particular beauty and decided to give it a chance Born on a Rotten Day: Illuminating and Coping with the Dark Side of the Zodiac. The author is Hazel Dixon-Cooper.

Anyway, this book highlights the ugly side of each astrological sign, in what would be the most sarcastic, biting manner possible. Yes, I've noticed that her criticisms tend to be pretty repetitive, but there's something refreshing about someone who dares ticks off a Scorpio. And some of the comments are right on the money. Probably the best ones were the ones that highlighted the neuroses of the signs that I know the best. Others were less inspired. And I've noticed that she didn't even bother messing with the trines. You can't.

And for those who don't appreciate impersonal mean-spirited sarcasm as much as I do, there is still a redeeming feature. At the end of every chapter, it gives tips on how to cope with the worst traits of each sign. These are the nice endings to the chapters.

I'd quote extensively, but I'm afraid of copyright violation. There's something about the fact that Scorpio women instinctively know that the fastest way to a man's heart is through is ribcage. ^_^

On another note, I've decided to come up with the original concept for the Dead Like Me Mary Sue. Shaking my magic-8 ball, I shall foretell the creature that could be spawned from this fandom. Note that I will hunt and kill any who actually create said character.

  1. The Mary Sue will be dead, or more importantly undead and on reaper duty.
  2. She will have died a nobly tragic death.
  3. Most likely she will use her position to save noble souls and assassinate corrupt ones (never mind that you don't mess with the appointments. Like Mary Sues care.).
  4. She will do all this and yet not incur the wrath of either Rube or the gravelings.
  5. She will manage to bring out the nicer side of Mason.
  6. Even as an undead person, she will still be more beautiful than all the living people.
  7. Better yet, she will be a granddaughter of Betty, and look just like her, only prettier.
  8. George will mysteriously be missing. Or she will be Mary Sue's best friend.
  9. Mary Sue will somehow be barren of all the quirks that the DLM characters are known for.
  10. Delores Herbig will manage to die at her hands, or will see that she is just an annoying, controlling, little busybody with a severe syndrome of TMI (Too Much Information).

Well, other than that last one, I hope that this Mary Sue stays in this forecast and out of any realm on FF.net.

Over and out.
