Rambling
Well, I called Me-chan last night. She got a kick out of the fact that I reviewed her. Thank you. Thank you.*bows* Please hold your applause. Yes the laptop is doing wonders for my work ethic. I'm sorry that doing something as fundamental as reviewing a friend's story got so put off, and I should have done individual reviews for each of them. But I'm back, and just in time for Dreams Come True
Axis is coming along nicely. I think a week before school starts, I've finally slipped into my summer schedule of writing. Although it's not quite up to last summer, when I managed to churn out a number of parts each in a single night of work. (Note the night, I always had writer's block up until about 10). There's an outline (kind of) listing each of the major events, and because all the big events are only a few more major events down the list, it's less daunting than thinking of it in chapter counts. I think I've decided to split it into two parts: The Story of Earth, which I'm writing now, and The Story of Heaven, which will start after the aforementioned events. If I ever decide to do a story exclusively starring the Shadows that will be The Story of the Abyss.
Mail yesterday was interesting. Beware, for I have checking now. Just need the credit card, and I will have a serious supply of J-pop. ^_^ Just kidding. I'm actually only looking at the Hequil Complete VCD, and the all regions concert DVD for the Face to Face tour. Both for Hekiru. But even better were the cards that came. I'm sorry that all the people sending them can't come to the party, but it was nice to see the congratualtions. Lee even made this beautiful handmade paper card for me, really beautiful. And I have an excuse to go to Borders!
My mom's first piece of advice to me when I go to college is to get a friend who has cable. Her second advice was that I shouldn't skip class because I might meet that friend there. I asked if I needed to teach her something before I went. But I think she's agreed to tape a couple of shows for me, namely Queer Eye, and Dead Like Me (which reminds me that I should do a rant about why it's good enough to capture both my dad and I, regardless of our very different tastes in TV).
I really need to be thinking about packing now. This is the fundamental difference between Me-chan and I. She doesn't procrastinate. Not only will she be out a day before me, but I bet that I'm going to be forgetting a lot of things that she had thought about bringing because she got prepared in time. Yeah, I know it's mainly because of your parents . . . but you haven't procrastinated all summer. Saturday is seriously going to be a circle for me.
So, just a rough idea about what absolutely has to come.
Clothes. Duh. I figure my wardrobe is pretty all seasons weather wise, if not fashion wise. The clothing I wear regularly comes with me. The rest of it stays home. Tie-Dye is essential. As for shoes, I think that I might as well bring the entire collection, seeing as it only amounts to about five pairs.
Books. I'm keeping my manga and other related books, probably some of my RP books (In Nomine, any basic source books, and the book of madness), Some of the astrology books are going, and maybe the one on witchcraft (shh). Most of the fiction is staying behind, but I might bring the CoM books and Zel. I'm debating whether to bring Calvin and Hobbes or not. The HTML/Website book is going. And I am probably obligated to bring the KH strategy guide for Me-chan.
Art/Decoration. The painting I did this summer. The glass head. The beaded lizard. The ceramic cast I did of the glass head. The plaster stuff is staying at home. The rope lights and the lava lamp are coming. Most of my stuffed animals are staying, except for the ones that would have bed duty if my room wasn't quite a mess.
Electronic Goodies: Laptop and and stereo or coming. No question. Same with the CD collection, and the pathetic thing I call a DVD collection. Videos will probably stay, although I wonder if I can afford a TV/VCR combo with what little money I have. Any video games I own will be useless considering that the PS2 belongs to dad. The Sanity support is coming with me, and if I have the stereo, I don't need an alarm clock. Most of the software goes to me, but some is going to have to stay.
I think those are all the optional things to bring. Anything else would just be the basics, and storage is going to be key.
Over and out.
