Absolutely, one of the coolest things about fandom is how international it can be. I run a meta-blog for my fandom on Wordpress, and it's amazing how many commenters don't speak English as their first language and how many non-English pages seem to link to it.

And I just keep thinking, how much more participation could there be if knowing English didn't feel like such a requirement for reaching everyone.
